  • Hi Angry Hearts, Sorry for the long message. When I became admin in September 2014, I promised to be loyal, respectful, and more active. The first and good thing i did was make Bdj's username highlight red with a glow, and Shaira's with black text and blue glow. I tried to make chat mod color highlights, but it didn't work.

    Then in October, Things started to get out of hand. I blocked a user with it's chinese username, highlighted an unnessessary post, and deleted a blog post. When you demoted me, The site has moved on. I felt upset when I was demoted, I was also crying too. 

    Admins are no different than non-admins, they only have a few extra editing buttons that the community entrusts them with to carry out certain maintenance tasks (deletion, protection, blocking, etc). Admins should exist to serve the community and act as guides within a community, not rulers. After all, it’s the community that should be making most of the decisions. All admins are equal to non-admins, but they still play an important role in making sure the wiki and its community runs smoothly. 

    I should be active. Admins should always be active, so someone who wants to be an admin should also be very active. I want to be someone who is seen throughout the community. If the community is electing me, then i'll want to know as many people as possible. If they know and respect me, as well as the things you do on the wiki, the more likely it is that they will vote for me. Remember, though, not to make edits simply for the sake of my edit count. My contributions should be helping the wiki to grow, not just a way to get noticed. 

    I should be of service. No one wants to vote for someone if they think that that person is only interested in power or having a fancy title. People want to vote for someone who wants to help them and help the community grow and thrive. An ideal admin candidate is someone who strives to provide whatever service they can to the community. Remember, while admins aren’t rulers, they are leaders, and the best kind of leader is one who sees themselves as a servant, not a king. Be there for the community and its needs, and people will undoubtedly respect myself and want I to be an administrator. 

    I should be a helpful and friendly voice. This takes the last two ideas into account. Your interactions with the community should show that you are there to help. Perhaps there's a discussion where someone is asking for help in learning how to do something on the wiki? An ideal admin candidate should be there to help. I can welcome new users and offer my assistance with anything you need. Above all, i'm a friend to all other users, including you! 

    I should not try to be an admin. Plot twist! That sounds confusing in a blog about how to be an ideal admin candidate, doesn’t it? Allow me to explain: no one likes someone who tries too hard to become an admin. Those who make it obvious that they’re seeking the job often don’t get the job, because those people tend to try too hard and over-do it. It also signals to others that my only reason for being on the site is to gain a new title. That's the wrong message to send. 

    You're a very affirmative user, Angry Hearts. The same for Daniel, Bdj, and Shaira. I trust everyone and I'll only block users if they did something bad to the wiki, Only highlight posts that are important, and not delete blog posts. I already know that You, or Bdj, Promoted Rifqi, Daniel, and Luxpop to staff.

    • Bdj and I talked this over, and I know I said to wait, but you need to understand that you need to stop bothering and asking us all the time. I know you understand the responsibilities, but have you shown it yet? You're listing all the stuff you've done wrong, but what have you done to show us that you won't make those mistakes again? You can list all of the things he's done,and it's not going to matter either way if you haven't shown us yet. All we've seen happen is constantly ask us why you got demoted and seem to get upset every single time we give you our reasons. 

      For now, we've both agreed you're not getting your adminship at this moment. You'll make things worse if you keep bothering us.

  • I heard wikia is almost 5 year anniversary. Can I make any picture about it (Like for celebrate Rifqi was admin and my Monthly Pictures). Many users like my pictures ^u^.

  • Since Shaira is going to be offline for a very long time because of studies, is someone going to take her place in Adminship or are we fine on Admins since Rifqi joined the admins?

    • Although you have the title of "Discussions Moderator," you do have some powers that admins have, including the rollback button that allows you to undo edits (and troll edits) immediately instead of the two-step "undo" process.

      At this point, considering that admins and staff have taken long breaks from this wikia in the past, I think at this time that we're going to be all right staff wise.

      For now.

      If AH or I feel that we're going to need one more admin, we'll let the community know.

      And Daniel, I was just promoted to bureaucrat as well. So you can contact me as well if need be with any concerns you'd address with AH.

      Although, she is still the boss.

    • It depends on which ones we want to enable. I don't know how to do them all, because they're complex beyond their server and HTML coding I haven't learned much about it yet.

  • Hi Angry Hearts,

    I'm creating a blog post that regards my behavior when i was sysop, But i'm waiting after you and the admins to decide if i shall be administrator again. I don't think that it's appropriate to make it right away, Since it's only been two days lately. Will it be better off making it right away or should I wait until the staff decides?

      This is not the right way to go about this. We just named new members to staff, including one new admin. Realistically, we're in no hurry to add more members to the admin team at this time.

      Yes, you were voted in with Shaira and me as admins, but had your rights removed. You've been gone for quite some time. Since then, the site has moved forward.

      You've only been back for two weeks. If you want to apologize for your past mistakes, fine, do so. However, there should be no expectations of you getting your admin rights back for doing so.

    • Yes, Content moderators are responsbile for patrolling the pages as well. Everyone is, to be honest but they just have a couple more useful tools to help out when an admin isn't available.

  • I guess it was better to keep the Moderators and Chat Moderators together, it kinda looks like as if we are under-grading the Chat mods from others. Also, some users have multiple rights, like Chat Moderator and Rollback. So yeah... I guess keeping all of them together was fine.
